Ginni Callahan is Donna’s older sister and a nomadic kayak instructor by trade. She runs a kayak business called Columbia River Kayaking on the coast of Washington State in the summer and made the haul to our wedding from Loreto, Mexico on the Baja peninsula, where she winters and leads multi-day kayak tours in the Gulf of California. Ginni is one of only three women in the US to hold a British Canoe Union 5-Star Sea Kayak rating. She is also featured on the DVD “This is the Sea”, a compilation of biographical accounts of kayakers the world over. Furthermore, Ginni is an accomplished writer, having been published in Bicycling Magazine and Pygmy Boats Catalogue, and by Seal Press in “Steady as She Goes: Women’s Adventures at Sea”. (We very much appreciate her making that haul to the unfamiliar cold mountain territory of Coloradofor our wedding!) |
